Change of Pace is founded upon the truth that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God and desires to introduce women to a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Participants, coming from many different churches and of all ages and stages of life, enjoy a great time studying God's Word together. Many friendships are formed and cultivated within the group.
Change of Pace Bible studies is a ministry of the Friendship Foundation, directed by Dona Fisher. The Foundation directs a study in central Lancaster County and a study in the southern end of the county (thus, the name, Change of Pace South or COPS). Before the southern group’s existence, women were traveling considerable distance to enjoy rich Bible study and Christian fellowship with other women. In 2000, a small group from the southern end proposed the establishment of a new group within close proximity to Quarryville, Oxford, and Peach Bottom, areas of southern Lancaster and Chester Counties. Starting with twenty women it grew to over one hundred women and continues to flourish. Since 2002, Change of Pace South has gratefully used the facilities of Providence Church.
New Bible studies are offered two to three times a year, in September, January and sometimes March . Materials from well-known, qualified Bible teachers are used and small discussion groups are led by dedicated leaders.

Our fall 2020 session will begin on Wednesday,September 30. We are offering three options for study: an in-person group and two Zoom groups.
The in-person study begins at 9:30 am with a short time of gathering and worship in music, followed by a DVD teaching lesson and small group discussion. We will not be serving our usual breakfast buffet due to COVID-19, but you may bring your own travel mug with lid. Masks are required for everyone attending in-person study and enrollment is limited. Participants must register in advance, either online or at our drive-up registration on September 23. See details below. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer childcare at this time. Supervision is available for a limited number of homeschooled children (grades K-8) with masks and distancing precautions in place.
The first Zoom session will be offered on Wednesday mornings, 10:00-11:15.
The second Zoom session will be offered on Thursday evenings, 7:00-8:15. *These sessions will include discussion of the study and a prayer time. This option will require the participant to watch the videos ahead of time (you will be given an access code for videos) and you would need a book as well.
Women of all ages and all faiths are welcome! Whether you are a beginner in matters of faith or a seasoned Christian, you will feel comfortable and you will learn lots! We welcome you.
Please join us for a drive-up registration and book sale on Wednesday, September 23, from 9 until noon. This is an opportunity for both in-person and online participants to confirm your online registration, register in person if you haven't yet registered online, and receive your book and related study materials.
